‘Damus Quatrains

In East Brunswick, Ohio, at the Two Brothers Truck Wash, the attendant stepped onto his back porch and found a canning jar that was left there. He opened the rusted tight lid to find rolled pages with writing in a language he’d never seen. In a self-induced altered state, the translation began. The next morning, this man—we’ll call him Teller to protect anonymity—found two quatrains that made little or no sense. As Teller sends these, I will post them.

Skies above—cloud white ‘nd dark

All visions seen to all:

Duck of darkness, drag’n white

Ev’l and good begin the fight.

#95

The fight in ern’st begins anew.

Is seen within the abbey.

An auburn flame where once was gentle

Breeze, now walls of tabby.
